Is homeschooling a superior form of education compared to public schools?

Could homeschool be better than public school that caters to the slowest kid? Sure
But the people not rich enough to afford private school are also probably not rich enough to take time off work to teach their kids all day.

There's probably a difference in learning how to cut wood and how to read on a 12-grade level. Even with all the money and assistance currently poured into our education system, many people cannot even read on a 8-grade level. There's no way, that traditional home-based education could get you meaningful literacy if the person in question isn't teaching that to himself.

Read books, nigger. I had a 12th grade reading level by 3rd grade because my parents read me novels and scientific journals as a child instead of children's books.

I was prevented from reading certain books in public elementary school because the teachers said that they were too hard for me to read, as I was reading them. They would take us to the library and tell us to pick out a book to read. Then they had the balls to come and take the book right out of my hands as I was reading it and tell me to pick something simpler.

Modern public schools in the US are glorified daycare facilities that exist so mommy and daddy can go work for Mr. Toilstein a full 8 hours a day. The curriculum is %70 fluff and completely unnecessary up until the late high school or collegiate level. Trim it down to 4 hours a day max and focus on literacy and math with MAYBE the odd sprinkle of history/humanities and an hour of play/socialization time. But oh no, that might require at least one stay at home parent and we can’t have that now.

I knew a kid who was homeschooled and he was awkward and cringe. Probably better than having to deal with going to a diverse school system like I did though. Never had any problems personally since I played football growing up with a lot of them (the niggers and spics) but other kids suffered from their inclusion. But this was before schools were entirely dedicated to trooning out kids so I guess the math has changed even more.

>> No.15205663

also I've never quite got why 1 parent does the homeschooling. Seems like a better idea for a large group of parents to pool their money together and pay a retired teacher or someone to do the teaching and homework checking. Maybe people already do this I dunno. Like hire someone with a phd to do a lecture on what they have the phd in for a few hours every once in a while to change things up.

There are millions of public schooled kids who are isolated and have no social life WHILE going to school much less afterwards.

Homeshooling implies you spend more time with your kid, if not have one stay-at-home parent, and as a result end up being more social. Additionally, you will have the thing that counts most and forms the basis of your life and success: Strong family bonds. It is more guaranteed to be pro-social than school is. But it has the important effect of not being a stranger to your family. Ofc it can go wrong, as can school. But it is generally better socially and undoubtedly better in education especially now with the internet.

Absolutely. The brain damage i got before dropping out and doing a self-paced program was unreal. Public school is just free daycare, and when you have to cater to the stupidest kids, it's a recipe for disaster for anyone with more brains than a rock.
Not to mention the fact that I've got a different circadian rhythm, so I could hardly wake up at all.
Above-average test scores but put me in class and I was dumb as a rock. Now I get up at noon and work into the night and my body feels 100% healthier.
Unfortunately it's hard to homeschool if you aren't rich enough to stay home with the kids all day. I got lucky and dropped public school by the time I could start working, so I can pay for my own share.

It doesn't seem that children were taught in such a hands on way as suggested in the picture. They were mostly let roam on their own. It's only because human intelligence fell so dramatically that this seems to make sense. You can see it even by comparing old vs new textbooks. Old textbooks relied on children getting the concepts, new one explain everything down to the minutest detail that actually make them confusing, as you have no idea what and why is even being explained.

They wanted me to take a remedial reading class despite reading significantly above my classmates when I started highschool. I was actually taken aside by my teacher and was told I didn't belong there. She gave me a choice, take the easy A or choose something else. I had a chance to take a pre-calculus class my junior year and was actually told that I could NOT take it, despite my A-B grades in my former algebra and geometry classes. I was forced to take an "algebra III" class my senior year, there's no such thing as algebra III.. it's just college algebra. I took something in KY called a KYOTE test within the first few days of class, and scored perfect 30 and I was still required to take algebra III, my counselor refused to move me up. >Is homeschooling a superior form of education compared to public schools?
That depends entirely on what you want the outcome of an education to be. Do you want it standardized; do you want students to also learn cultural values and norms and life skills, and not simply academics; do you want school to be publicly provided daycare? There are many questions to answer, and you'll find that there's no system that gives everyone a positive response to even a small subset of those questions.
The public school modality has, if nothing else, the ability to shape a person into a member of a society. Some people screech and reeee about this as "indoctrination" but only when the ideology being instilled isn't their own. When Americans schools taught that racism died in 1965 with the Civil Rights Acts and that the Civil War was about state's rights, for instance, the majority of people weren't screeching about propaganda. Change the narrative, and the REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEs echo through the distance...
If nothing else, homeschooling fails to properly socialize children in our highly social world. Every homeschooled kid I have ever met was a fucking goober who ended up being a degen adult, which is ironic considering all of their parents were conservative types angry that schools might indoctrinate children. I could understand why the anti-social, ADD-riddled autists around here can't understand that proper socialization is incredibly important in society, but I assure you that this singular failing of homeschool is the biggest reason you should consider against 100% home schooled primary education.

inb4 some idiot says a bunch of dumbshit like get a group of neighborhood kids together as a bigger home school, it's not better to initiate kids into some schizo cult behavior than government propaganda
