I know I do. Got diagnosed, was given meds when young, and despite being illiterate in first grade I went from that to reading every book in the library in that school year. They refused to send for higher level books from the other schools, those assholes. Anyway back on topic. I don't take my meds much these days because of insurance problems so here is how I cope. One, coffee. It helps me keep focused. Two, I study in smaller increments and with more going on. I don't just study one thing at once either. I jump around in the things I need to study until it works. Three, though this is partially my unironic autism, I make the things I'm studying related to topics I like. In my case I like sci-fi so I might take a physics idea and try to apply it to explain a hard sci-fi setting. Same with math.

ADHD is diagnosed only in the USA. Before 4chan, I didn't know that this """"disease"""" exist. It exists only in the USA because american citizens are seen as cattle by their own kleptocratic goverment owned by corrupt corporations.
I was baffled by discovering here the amount of dangerous substances corporations are allowed to put on american food, and baffled by discovering that you have to worry about buying "grass fed organic beef" (it's illegal to sell any kind of beef that is not "grads fed organic beef" where I live) and many similar stories. Your government hooks your grown ups on opiates and destroy forever the cerebral cortex of your children with adderall. Ask any non-american person about ADHD, they won't know what you're talking about.
Children want to play because playing is the way children learn, they don't want to sit in a chair learning by heart the name of top 50 female and black heroes of american history. It's not a disease, if anything your society is a disease.
To learn self discipline children imitate their parents and older bros/sis and are guided by them with motivation.
In a intercultural, multiracial society where family isn't a value and single motherhood is on the rise and citizens have no rights and family is replaced by money and istant gratification is obvious that this can't happen and children won't bother with sitting on their chair to learn.
My advice? A) stop setting standards so high on yourself, you're not that smart and you don't need to B) cut out all the unhealthy habits and introduce healthy ones, like physical activity and social life C) make a plan to restudy everything from the beginning as if it was your first grade from some site like khanacademy or coursera

I couldn't learn how to read until I started taking adhd meds. When I did, I didn't just learn but excelled, going from a fucking remedial durrrr hurr I'm so SPECIAL class to a gifted and talented class because my reading comprehension skyrocketed. Before that I would sit down and try to teach myself, try to learn, because I WANTED to know how and I just couldn't make it make sense in my head. I don't disagree that in most cases it is worthless as fuck and I knew a lot of kids that shouldn't have been on it but most people not needing it and it being exactly what you say doesn't equal all cases are this. Also don't disagree with the rest of the things you said

As do 90% of your age group. Its the inevitable result of social media and "smart" devices (among other social conditioning methods, like instant access to porn) fucking up your brain.

As with 90% of "modern ails" it can be fixed by eating properly, exercising, having healthy lifestyle in general, dropping all medicinal and other drugs and forcing yourself to socialize and read a lot. There are also hard-reset methods to normalize the functionality of your reward/pleasure systems but they require high levels of mental discipline.
