I noticed Hideous Destructor changed the SS on the forum page to Freedoom. Kind of disappointing but whatever

Do you or anyone else know what the end game of this is? Is this some sort of strategy to have Freedom as a base, GZDoom as the engine and HDest as gameplay? Together to become a standalone or commercial game? Idk anything about the licensing and what not.

The mod has been developed for a long time so I definately think the hard work should be rewarded, it's just, strange. Why? Why not Gold source or Unreal?
