stop trying to make LCD / OLED monitors look like CRTs. they will never look anything like a CRT. you're just looking at a blurry shitty dark picture with missing pixels for no reason.
if you don't feel your eyelids burning, it's just not a CRT.

it's about 50% as bright as it should be and what the fuck are those vertical lines? you never see that on a CRT. absolutely fuckin horrible.
a real CRT produces a bright and slighly blurred image, removing 50% of the pixels from an LCD while keeping the sharpness is just awful and inaccurate.

man i grew up playing them and have some nice ones now lookin way better than the hand me down Magnetboxes i had as a kid; and if you think that looks anyhing like a CRT, i guarantee you have never seen one in person.

CRTs are super bright, you can't make LCD monitors darker or start chopping pixels away to make it look like a CRT. it's a flawed premise.
add a little bilinear filtering or enjoy your blocky ass pixels.

i have yet to see a gimmicky one that looks anything like a CRT. most just darken half of the pixels for "scanlines" and it looks atrocious.
bilinear filtering looks the most like a CRT IMO.
