The Sunday Night Shitshow anon is MIA again. If any of you are still interested in rekkr co-op, i'll be willing to put up a server myself.

Zoomer here. My first experience with Doom was playing the shareware through dosbox with keyboard controls. Played that way for a while, then stopped playing Doom for years. Around 2015-16 I saw Yahtzees Brutal Doom video, which got me back into Doom, and then that became the way I played Doom until the beginning of last year.
Eventually I got very bored of BD's gameplay, and started to miss the experience I had when I first started playing. BD holds no appeal anymore, it has the depth of a mosquitoes vagina and it's bloated to the bursting point.
I think BD is nothing more than a gateway drug to real Doom. Eventually they'll decide to play vanilla, and anyone with half a braincell will quickly realize no amount of gunz 'n' gore will make up for a finely crafted and balanced experience like vanilla Doom or any of the other, well-made mods.
