I'm not great with emulation and all that, so it took me forever to track this down and even longer to get it to work. Probably be easier for other people, if you're interested hunting it down.

It's a click-and-go adventure game from '95, dated as hell, but with an extremely interesting concept. While playing through an original, very classically styled thriller story, you wake up each night and find items that send you into three of Edgar Allan Poe's murder stories, once from the perspective of the murderer and once from the perspective of the murdered.

Graphics are mostly Claymation, with some paintings here and there. Overall I'm very glad I went out of my way to find it. Very unique, and something unusually mature about it. Doesn't approach Poe in usual, "I heard about Poe in Jr. High and have been pretending to understand/give a shit about his work ever since" kind of way. I'm not even that nuts about Poe, but I can still appreciate it.

Been playin this "game" a lot and really feeling the weirdo vibes. There are plenty of art type adventure games out there, so: art game thread. Who knows, maybe I overlooked something..

I don't know if I'd call it an educational game, but in high school we spent a month learning about Edgar Allan Poe and our teacher bought a bunch of copies of this game and made us play through it. It was pretty great in that you got to play through some of Poe's most well-known stories (as both victim and murderer) but the puppet characters always freaked me the hell out.
