As I said, many people don't have the time, money or knowledge to get certain games to run. Also it is different for each game, and there are lots of tutorials online.

I wanted to create a list of games that one can buy without having to worry too much about compatibility.

The most common reason games can't be installed and/or played on modern systems is that 64 bit Windows doesn't support 16 bit binaries, i.e. almost all DOS applications. Windows 95/98 games sometimes had 16 bit binaries, sometimes 32 bit. I've had cases where the installer was 32 bit an ran fine, but the game was 16 bit and wouldn't start. The other way around exists as well, then you either need a custom installer or you install the game on an old system and just copy the game folder to your modern system.
