Did anyone ever end up beating this garbage? I never made it past the sewer levels as a kid. Just wondering what everyone’s memories of this game are.

Can we talk about remakes of retro games? Bonus points if the remake itself is retro. Pic related is the 1997 remake of the 1981 arcade classic Frogger.

I played this game to death back in high school, but there was something about it that I never could figure out, and that nobody seems to have posted in any walkthoughts online:

The final stage is some kind of jungle area. If I'm not mistaken, I remember there being a door at the end of the stage, and I was trying to figure out where the door lead. Either there was no way to enter it, or I wasn't meet all the requirements needed to do so.

So I wonder if /vr/ has any info about this, or knows whether or not this game has any special features or unlockable content that I didn't know about. I remember there being yellow frogs in each stage, but I'm not sure if I ever collected them all, or what the result of collecting them all would be.

Let's talk about arcade sequels, remakes and reboots. Are there any in particular you enjoyed? Any that you thought were hidden gems of their respective consoles? Do any of them hold up to more popular platformers like Mario, or are they all just shovelware?

Pic related. Frogger 3D was one of the top selling games of the PS1, so much so that the developers followed up with a direct sequel to it.
