Just a heads up, the hardware can only mirror characters horizontally and vertically, it can't do rotations. I noticed in your gif gibs spinning around. If you want that effect, you'll need to add graphics of the gibs at a 90' angle to the originals. This only doubles the amount of characters, not quadruples, because we can still take advantage of the H and V mirroring.

Also to add to this, fuck sequels. I'm tired of all major media outlets rehashing the same junk over and over again. It's okay to try something new, it doesn't always have to be shoved under some existing IP. Let the creative juices flow, OP, and just let Crystalis be what it always has been: a fantastic and complete NES game in need of no sequel.

The appeal of video games back in the day was that feeling of acomplishment you get by beating a game/AI at it's own game

The appeal of video games nowadays seem to be about pretty graphics and escapism

>New Games - Playing with the game

p.s. this is not a dig at modern games, just a personal observation. I remember sucking ass at mario back when I first played it as a child. Now beating it is like second nature. Why? Not giving up, learning from your mistakes and practice, practice, practice
