Steam Deck's OS is actually developed with some usability for consumers in mind, and Valve offers tech support, things which make a huge difference. I mean the people who aggressively evangelize their preferred literally who Linux distros and then get angry when you suggest that you maybe don't want to chase dependencies or do a bunch of problem solving any time you try any new program.

Have you ever been to /g/? Or had conversations with Linux evangelists in the Doom community? These are very much real people. Again, not all of them, but they're hardly imaginary.

>the guy constantly ranting about trannies in the retro fps thread has any hill to stand on regarding mental health
I'm not, and I don't, I only even bring them up as an example of where certain recent attitudes come from (like the guys here complaining about LibreQuake), and this general perception of the cult of hardcore Linux users is not recent in the slightest. It's like you quickly skimmed through the post until you saw the tranny word and then saw red.

I'm not calling you an asshole or a lunatic (nor do I give a fuck if you're a tranny or not) but you make a post solely to object to the one part of Anon's post, and you're acting like this is some propaganda campaign. I'm just filling you in on where part of this sentiment comes from, and it's not from big bad internet bullies.
