RnGs isn't exactly my genre, but what not-worthy title besides Turrican did the west produce? The PSX Contra titles were quite mediocre. On the other hand Contra 3's Game Boy port by Factor 5 was very good.

pic related is really good. Just a bit hard. And it's from an American developer, Visual Concepts. The guys who made Lester the Unlikely and ClayFighter. Other than that I can think of... ehhh Biomechanical Toy? Oh and there have been some new homebrew games on the Dreamcast very inspired by Turrican. And there is Nightmare Busters on the SNES.

Anyway, a lot of covers are pretty in this thread are pretty representive of the game. It might be bad art or not exactly as shown on the cover, but you definitely get the idea from most of these covers. Mega Man is a guy who shoots, Chrono Trigger a medieval fantasy adventure, Resident Evil horror game and Streets of Rage a beat'em up.

It's a rather wacky arcade, it was an actual arcade game, racer. You deliver pizza with a moped of your choice. You will drive through fountains, jump very high and you will pick up power ups that allow you to blow up cars with a kick.
The soundtrack is pretty much perfect.

Smashing Drive served as a spiritual successor. It's really good arcade fun, I recommend it.
