Console games are intuitive and aesthetically pleasing and have clearly defined, easily understandable genres.

Computer games on the other hand feel like work half the time. Pic related is a good example. It feels like I'm sitting in a cubicle filing quarterly reports.

Moreover, the genres are confusing and vague. Adventure games could barely be considered games. Dungeon crawlers look the same as FPS's, and further the "fantasy" genres are weirdly confined to drab corridor blobbers instead of I dunno actual fantasy vistas and wide open worlds. Consoles never had this problem.

What is it about playing a game on a computer that makes the games and the developers fucking dumb?
