I think I have 3-2 memorized now.

Now I have no idea what strategy to use for 3-3.

I can't fucking play King of Dragon Pass windowed at all or anything. Every time I boot it up it completely takes over my computer and dicks around with the resolution. I haven't touched it because of this.

I know its because its such an old game, but fuck, it seemed like the perfect kind of game to keep minimized so I can casually tab over to it and play a little when I bet bored.

I don't have major problems with Ninja Gaiden until 6-1, and then it's mostly 6-2

If you think birds on 3-2 is bad you are going to love this jump on 6-2 and the fact you will be doing it a dozens of times as failing to beat all 3 consecutive bosses in a row at the end of game WILL send you back to 6-1 which is the most RAGE inducing thing on Ninja Gaiden. At least the bosses you do manage to kill stay dead but this fucking jump is always there.

The GF and I just watched the Ninja Gaiden Game Center CX episode, and I'm really glad I will never have to actually play that game all the way through. Around stage 4 I was like "yeah I'd definitely be saying fuck it let's play the sims at that point"

Most stages you can just bumrush by getting the big shuriken, throw it out and have it circle around you for the entire stage.

Pretty efficient against birds.

PROTIP: Not only the jump-slash subweapon can kill all bosses in one hit it's also useful against birds and all other flying shit. Also you can save your ninpo by pressing down+B in air to attack normally when you don't need it.

That applies to the whole game, actually. I don't think NG is that bad, though. At least there are unlimited continues, there are no random drops of powerups and no random patterns in boss fights. So its all about skill and not about getting lucky

I know that the game im playing at the moment isn't as old as NG and I have heard how hard that game is but any who i'm playing x-com enemy unknown on the ps3 and i'm an aussie and I was happy to see they put in my country but got quickly surprised at how..... American it was including the side of the road vehicles were on for driving and all that jazz so I have a rage moment every time I go to defend my country now =(

I'm playing the Gameboy(when I go to my classes) and SNES versions. Can anyone help me get better at this? Can anyone even tell me the controls because I didn't know how to pass for a while?

Your defense is going to suck compared to the AI's, that's just something you have to deal with. Personally, I blitz on every play just to try and force the QB to make errors.

As for passing, it's rather simple:

1) Stand still for a bit before passing.
2) Don't throw into coverage.

If you follow those two steps, you should be successful unless your players suck dicks, in which case you're SOL regardless.

Controls are also simple:

A to hike the ball. A to switch your passing target (indicated on screen with a marker). B to pass.

As for learning how to pass, there's one tip:

The Niners. Use them. Young/Montana to Rice ALL DAY EVERY DAY. Even single coverage won't be a problem, and Rice will be able to make up for rookie mistakes in passing. That will allow you to start getting the feel for the basics - after that, move on to trying to avoid coverage, scrambling, and all that stuff.

3-2 isn't hard. Just don't stop running. For the very last jump, you should first jump to let the cheetah run under you, while the sword guy is visible in the bottom right. Then immediately jump under the bird and land behind the sword guy. The 3-3 boss isn't hard either, just duck and slash his projectiles.

4-1 onwards is pretty much hell.

i've been playing Yoshi's Island pretty much since it came out, trying to get 100% without a guide. There are still levels that have me totally stumped because I'm missing like 2 red coins.

Try 100%ing world 4 and then farming the memory mini-game for a guaranteed magnifying glass. Those help a ton, even if you can see the red coins without it.

Are you missing something on 1-7 by any chance?

I just beat it today but I still hate everything about Mega Man [1] from the point of the yellow devil to the end of the game.

Stand crouching exactly at pic related.
Mash B like you're a turbo controller incarnate.
Whenever he shoots from the left, turn around, STAND UP and hammer B.
Repeat when bullets are destroyed.
