Gilbert: Escape from Drill
The story makes no sense but you're some weird creature stranded on an alien planet and you have to search for the missing parts of your spaceship to leave, so you can be the guest at a gameshow on planet Earth. There's a bunch of minigames and some arcade sequences where you have to avoid things or throw your snot at them...

It's a nonlinear scrolling space shooter where you need to collect drops of paint and use it to restore color to the world. It is not, unfortunately, a game about wizards playing basketball..

I'm partially convinced this game was made as a thought experiment to see the effects of people slowly having their understanding of reality peeled away without them noticing.

I can't have been the only kid who was disappointed by how bizarre this game was. Why did they have to do that? Even playing as an adult with more patience, it's just not fun.

Gates of Dawn on Commodore64 was EXTREMELY weird. You had to do illogical things in a castle which seems somewhat related to your own mind, full of weird and bizarre creatures with creepy sounds. A sort of Gene Wolfe's fantasy made by someone who took LSD

Garage: The Bad Dream Adventure is pretty bizarre. I've only seen gameplay videos of it and it makes little to no sense and the music's a mix of being mellow and disturbing at the same time. I think only 500 copies of the game were made.

I played a demo of game once on the PS1 when I was young that was really bizarre and I can't find anything about it. All I remember: it was like an FPS puzzle game of some kind, pretty gritty brownish graphics, in which you sort of teleported onto mountain? tops or something. I think the loading screen had a beating heart or something in a white room? Really really weird.

Secret Agent. Everything is so strange and bizarre in this game. It's almost if some 6 year old was the leading designer, and I love it. It really does feeling like playing in world that was imagined by some bored kid in math class.
