After emulating a bunch on the Wii and Raspberry Pi, I plugged in my actual NES and SNES consoles. Damn. There is no fucking input lag on them. The lag might be small on the Pi and Wii but when you play something like Mario it feels so much tighter on the original hardware.

Don't know if I can go back to emulation, honestly.

You have seen the rabbit hole.

How deep are you going to go?

Shit OP. SHIT OP. Now it'll never be the same

I literally switched back and forth between the Wii and NES on my CRT. The Wii is sooooo close but the NES feels absolutely instantaneous.

So as long as I never touch an NES again, I'm good?

>> No.3724307

i'm seriously considering building a rasberry pi

how real is the lag issue?? does it make it unplayable?

i want the nes classic, but goddamn if i can find one

I think it's barely noticeable, I recommend Lakka over Retropie, I think it has less input lag.

cool, i'll look into lakka. i'm a newb with this kind of thing, but it seems like directions to set up are pretty clear.

what's a good size sim card to hold the majority of systems?

>> No.3724421

It's OK guys just play nothing but turn-based RPGs for the rest of your life and you won't need to think about lag.

Never tried lakka but definitely recalbox>retropie

Yes, using a wireless controller for a Genesis game results in input lag. What a fucking revelation. How will Wiifags ever recover? Fuck off.

Make a little .webm of that then, unless you want to keep getting called out on your shitty video over and over. I use a Gamecube -> SNES adapter and get almost zero lag, so evidence like that would at least be worthy of discussion.

Maybe he doesn't emulate the game he has, duh.

Even then emulation has advantages like choice of pad, online play, romhacks, etc I see nothing wrong with emulating something you already have.

It's a space and convenience issue for a lot of people.
