Post your local retro stores. This place near has a mild selection of retro games and hardware but more recently has been stocking xbox+ gen stuff, and the do huge business with MtG cards and other trading cards. I havent been recently but appraretly it changed hands and is now run by just one guy

Mine is eStarland. I rarely buy directly from them because anything pre-6th gen is on the pricey side, but they do hold a game exchange once a season that I'm almost always there for.

Weve got this place in madison wi. They have a lot of game posters and memorbillia but they dont have a lot of stock. Good prices though.

I can't take a pic because the game store that I frequent about once a month is 70 miles away. There are a couple closer, but I hate shopping at those stores because they are an area chain that uses price charting to price the games. They don't even bother to put prices on the games. You have to take them up to the cashier and then wait 5 years for them to look up the prices on price charting before they will quote you a price $10 more. Fuck those assholes.

this one, it's been around for a while, the name is probably accurate nowadays.
pretty typical stuff though, it's a small space extremely tightly packed with a ton of old games. good selection but high prices.

There used to be a really good one near me, went there everyday after school in high school. But they tore down the building, and moved up a bit. They turned into a gelato and phone repair store, they still have games but everything is coated on a thick layer of dust, the games are stupidly expensive, it's dark and smelly the store, and they put the price stickers on the labels for the cartridge games.
It's always empty too

My Wisconsin bro. I've been to that store. Not bad.

Right before I moved away from my childhood home town around 2010-ish, I happened up on a car speaker place that sold video games. I never noticed it before then. Holy shit, was their selection nuts. They had all sorts ancient systems still in their boxes, ranging from a Pikachu N64 to a fucking Atari 2600. According to them, they got the stuff third-hand from an electronics store that went under in the late 90s, who got their stuff from a place that died in the early 90s. Since this place was equally buried, they just hadn't sold most of it since.

Sadly, it seems to have since gone under.

Funny you say that, there's a chain of stores in Southern Ontario called JC Retail that specialize in vapes and retro games. Yeah... just take that in a for a second. They also sold these shitty repros that I swear they literally bought from aliexpress for like $7 a piece, slapped a nicer label on and marked them up to $40. Absolutely awful build quality. And they said they made them their selves. They don't really sell them anymore, probably cause no one was buying them. Alot of it was just shitty rom hacks like SUPER PIKA WORLD 3, not even something like japan exclusives or unreleased games. They have other typical le nerd crap like funkos and other worthless "collectibles". There prices absolutely suck, I went to one location and they had Crash Bandicoot at $39.99 and i went to another location and they had it at $54.99!! They were both in the exact same condition btw, so there obviously seems to be no central pricing system they use or maybe its just shitty management. I would post a pic of there prices I have but its on gamecube stuff so its not retro

It's meh. Most games and accessories go for eBay prices. In the record section there is stuff I've seen online that I can tell they just bought and marked up a few bucks for s&h. There's is a selection for all your weeb/hipster/nerdy needs though like gunpla, retro and current gen games, comics, records, CDs, vhs, DVDs and assorted action figures. I hardly buy anything but it's worth a walkthrough every once in a while to see something new.

For the philly/south NJ area there is classic game junkie and bandit video.

CGJ has a little something from every single game console to ever be released (exaggeration, but almost) but their prices for buying is near ebay or a little less. they do give excellent trade deals though, probably because they price everything a little higher anyways. but for the amount of stuff there its a good place to check out. but be warned, they are always fucking busy and sometimes the people working there get a little flustered and give out quick snap-like responses if juggling a few things at once but every time they did that they remembered what they said and apologized like a canadian when it was time to check out (they also have been getting robbed/fucked over alot because philly....so i can understand) so if you cant take frank speaking or getting cold shouldered if you ask a million questions you will probably get butthurt and leave a 1 star review for them like so many have done before lmao. its real fucking busy there just let me remind you one more time. BUSY. im talking 20+ people crammed into a VERY tiny shop walking around at once on a sunday.

bandit video has a smaller selection but everything is very good on prices. a very large selection of dvds too. most of their SNES games were sports shit and the ones that were not were in glass cases. the guy who owns the shop was very friendly and struck up a convo as he was testing and bagging up my snes. i judged him as a cool dude.

whereas a SNES console with controller and hookups at CGJ is fucking 100 dollars and comes with a year warranty and will fix anything you buy from them for free, a
SNES with controller and hookups at game bandit cost me 59.99. no warranty tho.

Nice. I work at one of their stores, believe it or not. It's kinda cool seeing the place get some sort of recognition especially seeing as there's only 3 locations anymore. I think at some point there was somewhere around 8 or 9 stores open at one time, but they've all been picked off one by one over time.

I went to a bunch of local game stores this year (I usually only go to garage sales). This one had the most interesting selection. It was pretty messy inside with stacks of games right on the floor. I bought some japanese original xbox games when I went.
