OP From last thread

>>5020154

Got 3 different Switcher boxes and wanted to give my recommendation for anyone looking to buy one.
I'll post each with shitty pics I took

First is the Joytech JS965C AV Contol Center
This was the one I was expecting the most from. It cost more compared to the other two and it was built better and feels sturdier.

It has clear audio and video, but it darkens the image and to me makes it look muddy.

It's tough to tell from the image but it is definitely different from the video just being plugged in to the TV

I don't have a picture using S-video because I'm going to use this for all plug-ins that require A/V as it's passable enough for me to rely on it for that.

Next is the Pelican Universal Switcher, which was make specifically for game systems

This Feels Cheaper than the Joytech, but the image is just as clear as if the system was plugged into the TV itself

Again the picture is shitty but it looks really good playing anything in S-Video.

So far I've tested PS2, GameCube, PS3 and SNES. All look great.
This is the switcher I will use for all S-Video Systems

Last was this piece of shit, it was the cheapest on Amazon.

It sucked, to much contrast, to much deterioration, and interference no matter what I tried

If you want a good Switcher Box For S-Video, I recommend the Pelican.

That's all, thanks for the recommendations

>> No.5030373

Thanks, OP. I really need one of these and have come across the Pelican one before. It should be the one to grab, then?

I tested the s-video cable it came with and it's only 2 conductor junk. never actually tested the switch itself.
I only use it to switch composite

I've got that same switch box, it's shit. Removing a resistor can somewhat improve the image, but it's still trash.

I don't the switchers come like that. Every switch is hooked up to a different console. Though you probably knew this.

Word of warning.
Do not buy cheap switches or converters.

I bought the chinese scart thing and it fucking fried an hdmi port in my receiver and the actual scart converter thing stopped working.

If you did have such a cable (which you don't) then why wouldn't it also advertise PS3 compatibility? Also, how did the manufacturer get around the electrical differences between SNES, N64 and GC? How's the component output quality from SNES and N64?
