I prefer it over Dualshock 4 by a ton. The dpad especially is a lot more comfortable. It's what I always use for fighting games when possible.

Why ask for opinions when you can get facts? But my opinion is that a Saturn pad is absolutely the best for casual memlets to impress others of their kind with their complete ignorance of how to play fighting games.

DC fight pad is better because the buttons are actually the same size. What was Sega thinking when they mage the 6 button MD/Saturn controllers.

IMO don't get any knockoff versions of the original saturn pad, including the new retrobit ones that are officially licensed since it's been proven they changed the internal molding so it's incompatible with saturn pad replacement parts. Find an OG pad, refurbish aas needed, and get a decent adapter like raphnet (mayflash if you don't want to drop an assload of money).

There's a few sets, the original official usb ones from a long ass time ago are almost as expensive as N64 hori pads, the playSega controllers that are super cheat but have crap contact pads, and there's a new set that retrobit has coming out but nobody knows if they'll actually be better than the ones they've been pushing for years.

I'm dying to find a way to use the vita as an input, it has the best DPad I've ever used and it's what I used for fighting games on the PS4 before getting an arcade stick. A Close second would be the GBA SP
