Vita can do that too. Its got ports of retroarch, pbfa, scumvm, it can even do some Amiga and Apple 2 stuff, but I haven't tried it yet. As long as I'm over clocking, I get full speed at everything I throw at it.

Depends on what you want. If you're looking to emulate, you get that second analog stick which is great for PS1 and moded PSP games, higher rez screen, better battery life, a littler more horsepower for running shaders, remote play on PS3/PS4/PC and some emulators and ports that the PSP doesn't have. I personally like the native games too, but they're definitely not for everyone.

>>5633286
I haven't noticed it if it has been killing my battery. I use the auto overclock mode tho, so if I'm in a menu or a scene with not too much going on, it'll actually down clock itself.

I have both. The switch is great for 3d emulation, Dreamcast and 64 is great, and I have high hopes for the dolphin port too, but its not good for portability IMO. Not having a d-pad is a deal breaker for me, and my joycons are already doing some weird stuff. In a perfect world, I'd be able to sync my vita and switch's retroarch saves without using ftp, but for now I'm sticking with the Vita for the comfort factor.

If you have a ds/3ds, just use that for gba, but vita does work if you must. Played the mario advance 4 extra levels, and sonic advance on a vita using VBA-Next a long time ago (was fullspeed), so probably even better now with overclocks.

I wish you could dualboot a hacked Switch with the regular OS, because I'd love to use my Switch as an emulation station but still want to be able to play games online. I'm a good noodle who honestly doesn't care about pirating Switch titles, I just want to play Dreamcast games on the thing. If I've ever enough of a sucker to buy a revised model I know what I'm doing with my current launch model, at least. Switch seems like it's shaping up to be a great emulation machine if you don't mind the size.

As it stands, I have NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, Virtualboy, PS1, PSP, Master system, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Gamegear, Sega CD, 32X, PCE, PCE CD, Neo Geo, Jaguar, 3d0, Lynx, NGPC, Wonderswan, Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800 and MSX2 emulators.

Been considdering getting into sharp X68000, NEC PC 98 and arcade emulation too, but it's all kind of a huge pain to get a lot of that shit running, and for deminishing returns.
Like, why spend all the effort getting Akumajou Dracula on the x68000 running, when I can just play yhe PS1 version, and there's nothing else for that platform that interests me?

If you’re planning on just using it as an emu machine, not really since PSPs are much cheaper and easier to set up. If you know there’s games for Vita you’d like to play or PSP games that you like but require clawing to control the camera, it’s a bit more worth it.

If you can hardmod or know someone who can do it for you, get a 3G 1000 model and swap the 3G modem with a PSVSD. It allows you to expand your accessible memory beyond proprietary card sizes while being able to play legit games while it’s an either/or choice with SD2VITA on all other models.
