You can just put the game in A CD player...

>> No.6059883

Soundtrack is good in both. But level design is better on dx

>> No.6059889

Right, but the actual game is not nearly as good as Rondo of Blood.

>> No.6059905

Dracula X and Rondo are both good games that offer pretty different experiences
Dracula X is like Castlevania 1 on steroids, kicks your ass and doesn't offer easy shortcuts, there's 6 very memorable levels and a boss fight that I'll curse forever

>> No.6060834

Dracula X also had the best end credits music. Probably the best sounding game on the SNES.

Too bad it was such a hack job though. Richter's walk animation is twice as fast, because they had to cut frames, but didn't account for the speed difference. Fucking death swooping in front of the clock tower with his background sprite - even though should be on the same plane as Richter.

The first level is stunning with all the mode 7 flames. Too bad the game goes downhill after that.

Rondo is still the better game.

this, it took me like 30 seconds to figure out what anyone in this thread was talking about until i realized they were using the wrong names
it's dracula x and dracula xx, not rondo of blood and dracula x

no, no...
Japan PCE Engine CD: Akumajo Dracula X -Chi No Rondo
USA releases on Virtual Console/etc.: Castlevania - Rondo Of Blood

Japan Super Famicom: Akumajo Dracula XX
USA Super Nintendo: Castlevania Dracula X
Europe Super Nintendo: Castlevania - Vampire's Kiss

stand on lowest pillar and throw crosses for first phase
no knock back on damage when ducking unavoidable hits.
spam item crash for second phase.
it's not a hard fight, just grind hearts before going in

>>6060943
It took me more because Castlevania: Dracula X s called Vampire's Kiss outside the US and >>6059883 was saying that the level design was better in Dracula X.

Silly discussion anyways, comparing prerecorded soundtracks on CD and 16 bit devices. They had to adapt the music for the SNES and with some tracks it was fine, some others (lol Vampire Hunter) just ended up in the wrong way.
