Is this game worth getting?

>> No.6216330

Is it free? I mean, I like Pilotwings, but I wouldn’t pay any amount of money for it. Maybe $5 tops.

Sure. Its better than Pilotwing 64

Both PW and PW64 are worth getting. Classics.

The right answer. Get the original carts and you're in peak correctness territory

A-are you me? Seriously dude, I get so tired of seeing Pilotwings 64 nostalgia all the time, like no one remembers the original. It's fucking classic, man.

PW64 has whacky controls though not gonna lie.

Its called N64 worship. 64 graphics automatically make it the Greetist of All Tiame.

>> No.6216385

>>6216376
I don't even see that much nostalgia for PW in general. If anything, I think both are praised equally, but not as much as they should.
Let this thread be a Pilotwings thread, not a SNES vs N64 one.

Jetpack goes from 0 to 1000 mph in just a push of a button. The gyrocopter has terrible turning. Other things I could add as well.

I liked both, pal.
PW64 has the moon jump and the birdman missions which are among my favorites (well, birdman is just free flying, more than an actual mission, but I still love it, max comf)

Wait The original doesnt have Birdman? It does

>>6216408
I don't remember the Birdman misssions in 64, but you might be thinking of the bonus stages in the original. Specifically the one where you play a stork/albatross and fly as far as you can.

You know what I love most about SNES Pilotwings? There's a lot to love, but what I love the most are the instructors. Their distinct personalities, the way they each have their own freak-out face if you score too high. I actually a childhood notebook somewhere in my house with fan art I drew of these guys (Shirley was one my first videogame waifus), and at one point I even planned on drawing my own fan comic about their day-to-day lives teaching students how to fly and dealing with terrorists at the EVIL Syndicate.

About a couple years ago I was playing Pilotwings and thought I'd try to land the hang glider on the rocket belt target and my mind was blown when I got a bonus stage I had never seen before. Thought for the longest time the jump one and penguin dive were the only ones.

Such a great classic.

I find Pilotwings to have the right balance between sim and arcade gameplay. I don't find the physics wonky at all.
It's a kind of timeless game for me, can pick it up and play it anytime and enjoy it every time.
