What old games do you consider to be overrated or to have aged badly, /vr/?

I mean you're not wrong. It's good in the aesthetic and production values department and the story/cutscenes are still enjoyable but as both a stealth game and action game it's aged fairly bad. I won't go into detail since it's not epic retro, but 2 is an infinitely better game

I'll elaborate a little. There's just barely any actual stealth in this game, and when there is it's very easy and lasts maybe 30 seconds. There's many bad segments that drag the game down/pad its length like the stairway, torture scene (I hate this in every game), waiting for Meryl, and worst of all the pal key shit. I get it's there for the sake of story exposition, but man nothing really interesting happens gameplay wise and they don't change much up on your walk back to make it less painful. The bosses are also a bit of a mixed bag, some are great (cyborg ninja, vulcan raven and rex) while some of the others eh.. not really. All of that considered, I still like the game and enjoyed it for the most part when I revisited it recently, I mean like I said the story of aesthetic/music are still good to me but lots of the gameplay is a tedious chore I'd rather not do. 2 has the awesome style and story AND has the added benefit of actually fun gameplay! Yipee!

Ps2 games have aged horribly, tank-like camera controls and lots of empty spaces. The graphics are like that mispainted bit in scooby-doo backgrounds.
