I had the Amiga version. It wasn't a great game, though it wasn't terrible. My suspicion is that they thought they could make money off a cheap licence and a cheap game.

I've still got my repro "It's 106 miles to Chicago..." poster that I bought at uni (in 199x) though!

>>6490761
>What was it about again?
It was a cross between SNL, a buddy road-trip movie, a jukebox musical - and Carrie Fisher spends the whole film trying to kill John Belushi while they're driving around meeting big name musicians, getting the band back together, and generally causing chaos.

Also, Illinois Nazis.

>Ma'am, we're the Blues Brothers. We do blues, rhythm and blues, jazz, funk, soul. We can handle rock, pop, country, heavy metal, fusion, hip-hop, rap, Motown, operetta, show tunes, in fact, we've even been called upon, on occasion, to do a polka. However, Caribbean is a type of music, I regret to say, which has not been, is simply not, nor will ever be, a part of this band's repertoire.

When people talk about Blues Brothers games they almost never talk about the platformer by Titus, and I mean the first platformer on MsDOS and Amiga. There's NES version too but I haven't played it. It's actually pretty good.

You know, the DOS version looks pretty good. I was going to say the Amiga version was superior because it had both music and sound effects, but I just watched about 3 minutes of Amiga gameplay and the sound effects are tinny and annoying.

Guess that's how memory cheats, eh?

But it is definitely a good, fun platformer. Despite being an oddball licence I think I'm going to have to grab DOSBox and indulge in some nostalgia.

dan aykroyd was hoping for a huge revival with blues brothers 2000, there was also an animated show in the works, new merchandise, etc - of course when the movie bombed all that went out the window

That show seems like something I would have loved as a kid. It seems to be revolving around the original movie instead of the sequel which is weird because it's like watching the ghost of Belushi speaking through a cartoon, but also wise because it's the better movie.
