For me, it's playing Halo with strangers after school.

halo 2. only played halo 2. it was better than every other game. I tried bloodwake. I tried mechassault. I tried crimson skies. all shit. they weren't halo 2. one day I hope to feel how halo 2 made me feel

that's cute bro but halo 1 was better, had more soul and shit. halo 2 was for the poser kids who arrived late to the party.

If we're strictly talking about Xbox Live on the OG Xbox, it would have to be Midtown Madness 3 for me. Just fucking around in free-roam with some randos, to stupid races with all garbage trucks was some hilarious stuff.

Halo 1 also wasn't Xbox Live compatible. If you wanted to play online you had to play the PC version.

Rallisport Challenge 2 and Outrun 2 online. After halo 2 came out, I'd estimate probably 85% of live usage was just for that game, so anyone left on other games was probably pretty good or actually really liked the game too and wasnt just playing it cause it was popular. I fondly recall getting educated by some savant OR2 players from the UK, their techniques were amazing to watch

I miss Halo 2 custom games and sword flying and super bouncing out of the maps with my buddies. Xbox Live (from about 2005 to 2011) is the only time I truly had fun with online multiplayer

Halo 2, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, and Burnout is what I mostly played.

based. you play on pc or xb1? i felt the same way. I tried swbf1 but it had bad connections. not sure if it was the game or what. almost unplayable on xbl imo.

halo 1 is fun as hell but mainly because it is janky and chaotic. If you bump into someone at 1 mph with a warthog while it slides like its riding on top of vasoline, you kill them. there doesnt feel to be any friction to anything. the 3 hit kill pistol is fun as hell but makes almost every other weapon redundant. Even the tank.

same. i have some fun memory of being in a custom game on new years around 05 or 06 or something. Not sure why i laugh everytime ir emember people saying happy birthday, i think it was a custom game on the dlc map in the human city, cant remember the name of it. But there was a chill community of people who just wanted to have fun and teach eachother weird shit.

my bad not happy birthday, happy new years. something innocent and pure but silly at the same time to a slightly virgin level. Was a simpler time.

you just have to envision a bunch of spartans holdings weapons standing there counting down saying happy new years all at once on shitty mics.
