its reading my inputs, right?

Gid gud etc

every fighting game AI I know of reads inputs just like every strategy game AI cheats resources and build times

>> No.7324120

>>7324094
Not only is it reading your inputs, it also thinks your inputs are stupid.

lulz

I can make it up to a 5th opponent before I'm completely shut out

I thought SF in general has the semblance of "personalities" of CPU opponents that can be read and countered. Contrast to something like fucking MK that's literal IF THEN programming.

You gotta cheese the AI. Don't ever try to go against fighting game AI straight up.

>> No.7324226

This. The best way to own the CPU is to select Honda and do the Flying Headbutt over and over, just to hit the CPU character when he gets up. He never blocks and you win.

>>7324203
This is also the best way to fight humans

If you can, play the Japanese version of ST (SF2 X Grandmaster Challenge).
The western release has the difficulty stuck at max so the AI reads your inputs a lot more.
It does more damage than you but takes less damage. On top of that it also does impossible combos.
The best way to cheese the AI is by whiffing quick attacks in front of it which will make it jump at you. Landing anti airs is the most reliable way to deal damage.

>playing the arcade mode
Why? Just hop on fightcade and play a real person, an infinitely more satisfying experience then fighting a cpu.

>> No.7325535

>>7324094
>want to jump
>the moment i leave the ground AI jumps and hits me out of the air
>happens every single time
>the same AI shits its pants when you do whirlwind kick with ryu, it just stands in shock and rarely if ever blocks or dodges it
>turn off the game and never play single mode again

>> No.7325652

Are they ACTUALLY "reading your inputs" or do you mean that they are reacting on the very first frame of your moves? There's a significant difference between these and people get these mixed up a huge amount of the time.

Literal input-reading
This is the most common of common knowledge

To see the ending and beat your high score lol

Naw they're practically exactly the same. All fighting game AI is garbage, retro especially.

The CPU sees your button press input and responds to it with the soonest available clock cycle possible, breaking frame limits which the game is balanced around and essentially instantly responding to your buttons.

>> No.7327650

>>7324174
That is normally how SF2 iterations work with ST being the exception.

>>7326935
t. never played A2 arcade mode as Sakura. Endboss Ryu is this close to playing a real person.

Lol no it's not.

The reading part doesn't matter. Its the PUNISHING part you should worry about. Also the japanese Super II X is far less punishing. Because lets face it, merica needs to be punished pretty hard. They also need retarded cover artwork.

You might be literally retarded.
