As many awesome games as there were in my youth, in modern times I have learned that there are also several great games that were never released in North America. Thanks to all the hackers and translators who have brought us playable versions of these. Worth mentioning here:
Front Mission series in including Front Mission: Gun Hazard
Live A Live
Energy Breaker
Tactics Ogre
Final Fantasy V

Terranigma is another. I know if came out in Europe, and I haven't actually played it but have only heard good things.
>>1382180
Yes, so was Final Fantasy V, but both were released years later, and not on SNES.
I'll also admit that, in my opinion, Final Fantasy Tactics overshadows Tactics Ogre pretty much to the point of making Tactics Ogre obsolete, but if I had been able to play Tactics Ogre on SNES when it first came out, I would have enjoyed it much more.

SPO pays more homage to the arcade one than the NES one.

You're mistaken. Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen and Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together are two different games. Both were made by the same people, and both were later released on PlayStation in the USA, and along with the (superficially) similar gameplay and title makes them easy to confuse.

is considering Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts doing what Ghouls 'n Ghosts did. They aren't even playing the same league. SGnG is a poor man's GnG.

Sega provides what is lacking in that list. Like this 20 damn years later it is no longer a replacement for a SNES, nor the SNES a replacement for it. They are each others compliments and a non-delusional gamer needs both libraries.
