Well hey, I'm not picking sides here. I don't have a FF7 waifu. But there's a difference between a character who doesn't do a whole lot, and a character who actively fucks you up by stealing all of your materia. And it's not like Yuffie redeems herself later on, no. When you first meet her, if you don't answer the questions properly, she robs you. When you get her on your side, you could fight alongside her for a large portion of the game, yet waaay later, she fucking robs you again. And even after THAT she's still scheming to steal your materia. She's just an asshole and I'd consider her one of the antagonists if the game didn't keep her coming along for the ride. Similar deal with Cait Sith.

If you get her to join your team early on there's a pretty huge gap between her joining you and getting to Wutai, where she steals your materia. You'd think by then she'd either:

a) Have grown closer to the party, in which case stealing their shit makes her awful, or

Tifa's pixelated bust was the only reason I was able to play this piece of crap game to the end. FF7 was way overrated.
