I'm in the mood to get punished. What's the best version of this game? NES? Arcade? PSP? Other?

>> No.4259886

The NES version is the most painful version to play, if that's what you're looking for. If you actually want a good game, then the "Revision G" version of the arcade is the most balanced one.

Am I the only one that finds the sequel harder than the first GnG?

It depends on the revision, the revision with retarded Satan health is harder than Daimakaimura, but the latest revision with low Satan health may be on par or slightly easier than Daimakaimura

The NES port is the hardest version with its sluggish controls but the arcade version is prettier, handles better and doesn't have the high pitched ear piercing sound that Micronics likes to put in their games.

>> No.4260592

the version in the PSP is just the arcade port, it also includes the arcade port of Ghouls and the original SNES of Super Ghouls

the second game in the compilarion looks really dark for some reason, just emulate it on CPSPSP1, as far as I´ve noticed, the SNES one runs and looks fine.

Arcade is the one to play and anybody who tells you different is trolling. The sequels are also pretty great.

I don't recall the arcade having a clock tower level.
I will say that the PSP version was harder than the SNES version in a no continues run.

>> No.4260835

The NES version is the hardest, but only because it is so very poorly written. Go with the arcade, for sure.
