This was the easiest temple in the game. It's only difficult if one tries to rush through it. Take your time and it's a breeze.

>> No.4448669

I wouldn't say easiest. Spirit and Fire temples are a breeze. Definitely not as hard as most people say, though. Usually retards end up wandering around for 5 hours because they couldn't find a key or didn't realize that platform in the center rises and lowers. Outside of that, pretty easy. Forest temple always confused the shit out of me.

>>4448669
oh yeah for sure about Forest temple. and now that I think about it, Spirit was pathetically easy for how late in the game it was.
I'd say in terms of difficulty (most to least):
Shadow > Forest > Fire > Water > Spirit > Jabu Jabu > Dodongo > Deku Tree

>> No.4449060

>>4448642

It is tedious because constant switching to the iron boots, the only "difficulty", more like "getting stuck", could come from missing keys, the two top candidates are the one in the chest room behind the time block and of course the infamous one under the center pillar, that one is very easy to overlook.

what I hate about forest temple is it takes so long to kill those fucking poe sisters
also the bubbles were annoying

>> No.4449387

>>4449096
The poes? Nah man, that shit's easy as hell. Getting them out of the paintings takes a few seconds if you know where to stand, and when you're actually fighting them you just stun them with deku nuts, slash, rinse and repeat for about 20 seconds and game over.

doesn't it have the hardest bosses if nothing else

I agree, forest was and still tends to be the one I get hung up on. Water temple is easier than it.

Nothing about this game was difficult and you're a shitter if you disagree.

>> No.4449832

The main reason this temple had the stigma it had for years is because one of the gaming magazines at the time, I think it was EGM, had a major Zelda walkthrough issue, almost as good as an official guide, and they stressed over and over again how impossibly hard this dungeon was. That's what put the idea into my mind, and everyone was parroting that idea at school. But now the backlash against that idea has gone so far the other way that the dungeons difficulty and annoying nature have become underrated as seen in statements like that in op, claiming this is the easiest in the game when it's obviously not.

>> No.4449840

The thing I had trouble with was the room that has a hole in the ceiling that you can swim through at certain water levels. I just outright forgot the hole was there after the first time I used it.

>> No.4450762

>>4449817
true. it is the easiest zelda game by far.
>>4449404
I thought Volvagia was harder
>>4449832
It's definitely more challenging than say Dodongo's Cavern. I recently played through OoT3D and I was amazed at how smoothly and quickly I progressed through the Water Temple. Forest and Fire game me way more issues. I would even be so bold as to say that Jabu-Jabu is harder.

>> No.4450781

>>4448642
I played the game for the first time when I was 11 and the Water Temple was far and away the hardest for me. Definitely took me at least a couple days and some of the small keys were hard to find.

Fire Temple is very easy, you basically just walk straight through. Shadow Temple isn't that much harder.

>> No.4450785

Not counting the kid dungeons?
Forest and Spirit are easier.

>> No.4450789

Jesus, well I guess the one thing we can all agree on is that this is one of the easiest Zelda games.
Even just comparing it with MM, Woodfall Temple alone is more challenging than anything in OoT.

>> No.4450794

Am I the only one who's favorite temple in the whole game is Jabu Jabu?

>> No.4450798

>>4450789
That's because MM is a direct sequel to OOT. It's implied that players who are playing MM have already went through OOT.

>> No.4451016

It always amazed me when folks shat on Twilight Princess for being "too easy" when Zelda hasn't been challenging since The Adventure of Link.

There is a difference between difficult and challenging. Games like LttP or SM3 aren't difficult but they offered some challenges, there was some sort of resistance. There were multiple times as a kid I was stuck in LttP for days, especially figuring out the ice palace. It's not hard, but offers resistance. Newer games don't even offer any sort of resistance, as long as you press forward you will simply progress, everything else is just a formality.

Thought so.
I don't get why people don't like it, it's because of the "escort" thing with Ruto?

>> No.4454081

The water dungeon in Majora's mask was much more difficult than it. Just getting to it was more challenging than the Water Temple.

I remember playing lately and got a bit stuck on opening the floor with the ocarina because the camera angle blocked it from view and I didn't see it when running in the room. So that's a thing.

>> No.4456237

>>4449042
The Shadow Temple was easy as fuck, though. The solution to most of the puzzles is to use the lens of truth. If you keep it on most of the time, you're set.

>> No.4458357

>>4448642
you can't just be contrarian for contrarians sake, it doesn't make sense at all. What you're saying is factually untrue.

You could have said "the water temple is not difficult" but saying its the easiest in the game??? It's clearly the most involved and complex one in there, whether that actually makes it hard is another question, but none of the others get close.

>> No.4459223

>constant, and i mean CONSTANT switching of iron boots on/off
>have to scale the entire central pillar and do the ocarina song every single time you need to change the water level, which is just tedious and repetitive
>if you're missing the last key you have to repeat the water level rising process ad nauseam while you scour every floor for it
>you then realize that the last key you need is BENEATH you in a location entirely surrounded by spikes (which you've been trained to avoid entirely) and you can't even see the god damn thing because of the camera angle
>you're expected to just go against everything the game mechanics have established thus far and take a leap of faith into what appears to be a spike pit in order to find this last key
>keep in mind that there are no other keys in this entire game that are hidden so cryptically; every other one might need a puzzle done or an enemy beaten, but the game does a great job of shoving it in your face to make sure that you're well aware that beating the enemy/puzzle is what you need to do to progress

bad game design

>> No.4459231

I had no problems with any dungeons because I used the official strategy guide.

I literally read what I was supposed to do and did it, I didn't wait to get stuck or explore on my own, I would just do the next step in the strategy guide. Beat the game without any problem. I felt accomplished at beating the game.

>> No.4459257

I though it was difficult because of Shadow Link

the other parts of it were just tedious

Yeah same here but I watched a youtube walkthrough with colorful commentary. I also used a gameshark to give me infinite keys. I don't get what the fuzz is all about, the game was pretty easy.

It's disgusting, annoying, there's the "escort" thing, yeah, and also the mini boss is fucking flawed. First time took me like two hours to beat him just because wasn't really that noticeable, the way it turns around and shit, so I would constantly try to follow it and got killed by the spikes almost every time.
