other than Ice Hockey and Super Tecmo bowl did the NES have any good sports shit? I know there's more if you venture into Famicom territory but for the purposes of this thread stick to the NES

RBI Baseball was great, even for people who don't like baseball too much. It was a great 2p game. I think they still do romhacks of the arcade version to update rosters every year.

Super Dodge Ball was fun as was Arch Rivals. Who doesn't like duking it out while playing basketball?

Ice Hockey has the most comfy soundtrack ever.

Most of the Baseball games are brey good. Simple formula but it works.
Baseball Simulator 1.000 had an arcade like league mixed in with the sim league.

Seconding Bad News Baseball. Double Dribble is fun too, and I actually enjoy Soccer (plain, black-box launch title soccer) over the other versions on the NES.

People also recommend Super Spike V-Ball (it's 4 players), which can come on a double-cart with Nintendo World Cup

I used to played the LJN MLB game a lot. Quite simple but solid.

Track and Field 2 was also great but gave the controllers quite a punishment, broke my Nesmax with this one.
