hah, I would rate Woodman as 3rd easiest robot master in the game. I think my ranking would look something like this:

Flash man
Metal man
Wood man
Bubble man
Air Man
Quick Man
Heat man
Crash Man

Some of those might just have been harder stages, my memory is foggy.

Depends. Usually yes because on both Normal and Difficult you can damage-race him quite easily. If you're doing a no-damage buster-only challenge, you'll realize some patterns are so ridiculous to dodge that the only way you'll complete the challenge is if he plays nice and doesn't throw out said patterns. To me it's surreal that the Airman ga taosenai song is about trying to beat him casually because all you have to do is just shoot frequently and abuse the i-frames that you get upon being hit

No. Compared to some other robot masters, Air Man is probably one of the easiest. The main problem comes with his attack formations. At best they're moderately easy to dodge, but at times it can be pretty much impossible to dodge them. In fact I'm pretty sure he's the only one that's much easier in Mega Man 3 in Doc Form because you can slide (unless you count Bubble Doc due to an oversight).

A new scrub came to rockman thread complaining that he cant beat Heatman. Got told that he'd better beat Airman first for the floating platform, but he couldnt beat airman either, got told to try Woodman first to get his leafshield.
Well, he couldnt beat Woodman either, ad which point people began trolling him about how he needed to beat heatman for that, which lead to the guy getting frustrated and shitting out an epic pasta about how he cant beat airman, which became a source inspiration for this song.
