I keep trying to finish this game but I can never will myself to do so. The battle system is pretty fun, the music is nice, but the characters are dull, and the story/pacing is a snoozefest to get through. It's frustrating because I want to love this game but so many things hold me back.

this lof dragoon has annoying battle music and pretty low production values compared to ff
and also
vigilante 8 and it's sequel. while being more 'realistic' and better looking than twisted metal 2, it handles like shit and the vehicles/ specials are useless or brokengly good, and the levels are OK and very bad in 2nd offence

probably nobody knows what I'm talking about since its a niche

Vigilante 8 had a pretty good press-run, it was just terrible compared to the Twisted Metal series.

Final Fantasy 9.

I just fucking hate turn based jrpgs now and find the gameplay very unfun. Love the music and visuals and characters though. But I know I’ll never go back and play it ever again.

All Super Mario games. Played them all half to death back in the day (I think I spent the most time on Yoshi's Island). I recently tried to marathon all of them and wound up bored shitless and quitting halfway through each game. The only one I managed to play most of the way through was SM64, which, strangely enough, was always my least favorite.
