Does anyone know what are the best ways to play a Sega Dreamcast through HDMI? I have the Akura Adapter but it just died on me and I was looking for alternatives with the same quality since getting a replacement would be around $85.

I think Hyperkin sells Dreamcast HDMI's for cheap. I don't know about the quality, but I do know they sell an official Xbox HDMI adapter, so it must be good quality.

DCHDMI or get an Akura replacement. DCHDMI requires soldering work so either learn how to solder and get the equipment necessary to do so or pay to have someone else do it for you. Either way it’s expensive, but the Akura replacement is most definitely the cheaper option compared to DCHDMI.

With gen six you really aren't getting the real experience without a crt. The blur effect makes it look higher rez so if you're playing something meant to look 'crisp ' for its' time then you have to use a crt.

Would be it retarded/overpriced to build a Dreamcast out of spare parts? I still have the original shell from my first Dreamcast that I had removed to install a clear aftermarket case.
