SEGA Rally is the better game

Sega Rally is absolutely the superior game. Obviously Daytona's good and has a wonderful presentation but its gameplay is even outdone by Daytona USA 2.

Ever notice how little bullshit there is in these games? It's just car; transmission; course. No stats, no tweaking, unlocks are few but great. No extraneous story shit, and not for a second do you feel lost or out of touch with it. You're in the game with bumping music and awesome feeling cars and all that's on your mind is that next turn.

Stop telling me simple is better.

Sometimes it is, Sega mastered minimalism.

The first Ridge Racer was also a very quick menu, then RR 3-5 they started piling on lots of unnecessary screens which needed loading. Just get me in the game before you bore me to death.

SEGA Rally is also the better game. Daytona was just a novelty.

Well I don't care what you people think anyway.

Imagine, listening to the board that keeps trying to tell me Test Drive 5 is horse shit.

Sega Rally for sure. Daytona was good too.

Sega Rally 1 is Sega's best arcade racing until Ferrari F355 came out.

I personally prefer Daytona but Sega Rally is objectively equal to it I think. They're both excellent and I'd say choosing between them is just up to personal preference, like apples and oranges.

I can appreciate what something like R4 was going 4, but there's something satisfying about a quick beep-boop-blongs then you're being hit with the 3, 2, 1 of the start of the race.

I don't know about best but it's definitely a great game. The fact that Yu Suzuki got an simulation-style racing game to work in an arcade setting at all is a testament to his brilliance.
