They didn't live up to the best console ones but were the best side scrollers of the PC?

Probably not, although I can't think of any off the top of my head.
I mostly came in here to say that Jazz Jackrabbit was awesome for multiplayer and I'm not sure whether I completely missed the point as a kid but when I played some of the campaigns (or whatever they were called) they were over after like three levels. Were the campaigns actually that short or did I just goof up? (And yes, I had the full game, not the demo)
