Using composite on a PS1 is not what the developers have intended.

Nobody cares about what eurosharts think. The devs didn't want 50fps letterboxed trash either.

Nobody wanted the U.S. gaming market to crash (something that happened to your complete incompetence, and has occurred nowhere else), but it happened anyway. Nobody (from the JewEstrogenAnus - your neck of the woods, mutt) wanted Sony to choose bong developers to shill the PS1 to the rest of the world (making Sony the behemoth it is today in the process), but it happened anyway. You were born. That happened too. Luckily, a length of rope, a sturdy ladder, and a tall tree with strong branches (because you're so fucking fat) will fix that. :D

Yawn. Nobody really knew, so nobody really cared. Try harder.
When the Japs toned down the difficulty in their games, they had you - the mutt nation of pathetic children - in mind, not anyone else. As usual, the rest of us had to suffer because of your faggy tantrums. What could have been if you weren't so fucking WEAK, eh? Nothing has changed; as usual, it's the Americunts that are projecting the absolute worst kind of faggotry onto the rest of the poor world.

I don't care about what the developers intended, I just use whatever I think looks nice.

If the game use lots of dithering, composite usually looks better. Otherwise, RGB looks better.

They also not intended for me to download their games for free and play it, so why should I even care for what they intended?

I saw sony's internal design process and they used retroarch with crt easymode and and a sharpening filter, so I don't understand why people still try to play on original hardware.

Can't think of any off the top of my head, but I can think of some titles that never saw a release outside of Japan because Nintendo thought it was too hard for you - most famously Super Mario Bros. 2.

No one cares about your lack of knowledge/pathetic attempts at revisionist history. It's a well know fact that Tomb Raider, GTA, WipEout, et al, sold the console to the west. They were all over TV, on the covers of every pop culture magazine; just everywhere. You couldn't go to a club in Europe (at a time when clubbing was never more popular) without seeing WipEout on a projection screen. You're either an idiot, being intellectually dishonest, or you're a zoomer.

I can think of an example where the opposite is true: Resident Evil. The NA release is more difficult than the Jap release.

Gaming was pretty much a wild west for the 80s/90s. There wasn't much of a universal standard on how you were meant to play your games. These conversations are usually just millennials/zoomers projecting modern console gaming mentality (where things are way more standardized) onto the past.
Pic related, this kind of variation would never fly among console gaming today. A totally different time and mentality.

It can carry an RGB signal from the PS1. It's superior to S-Video and composite. I remember when I first started using the cables, my mind was blown. It immediately reminded me of the super sharp displays of the arcades I used to frequent.

Did your Game Cube come with a digital AV cable and four joypads? Because something tells me that the devs weren't using kits hooked up to early 90's TVs with composite cables when they were playtesting games.

Nah, you're absolutely right. I mean, the PS1 devs were definitely using devkits hooked up to early 90's TVs with composite cables when they were play testing games, right?

There isn't that much difference between S-Video and RGB SCART, but for Americans S-Video is much more accessible, so I understand why it's so popular over there.

RGB SCART is better than S-Video...

>> No.7736632

>>7736180
The big difference between RGB and S-Video is that S-Video has several different ways of color encoding just like composite video
This means that for an older European TV I'd only be able to do PAL S-Video signals on it otherwise I'd lose color, depending on TV I'd probably be stuck on 50hz too. With RGB I can play with my japanese consoles just fine without any color issues at all.

>> No.7736639

>>7736632
That's true, but for Americans it would only be an issue when they want to import PAL games, which is a lot less likely than the other way around.
