They are scary until you discover they literally can't hurt you unless you're completely retarded.

Pretty spooky. Especially because they're not important to the plot and pretty hard to find, so it's a nice "wtf is that?" moment when you do run into them. Tied with the mantis men IMO.

>>8184096
I was never that scared by the haunts, just tense because they instakill you. They're loud and have the same goofy animations as the Hammers, so they're not quite as mysterious.

I would play Clock Tower with my friend late at night with lights out and we would freak out every time he popped out of a closet and his music started playing. Deeply miss that friend. His wife murdered him a few years ago. I play this every so often thinking of the good times. We both also really loved the Breath of Fire series.

No, technically she went to jail for negligent homicide, something happened that caused him to hit his head and slip and he ended up busting his head open on the kitchen floor. Instead of calling 911, his wife, who admitted she was with them in the kitchen as this happened proceeded to go to bed. When she woke up the next day and went into the kitchen and he was still there then she went ahead and called 911 after she came back from work later that day. The excuse she gave was she thought he just exaggerating and when he was still in the kitchen the next day she said she thought he was just sleeping on the kitchen floor because it was hot in the bedroom. What made it all worse she was a licensed nurse, an LPN. She made no effort to administer medical assistance or at least get anyone to come. She proceeded to move in with a guy literally just two weeks after my friend died.

I don't get scared or jump in games, however the spike mines in Quake are actually something to fear. You HAVE to listen way too carefully, keep your needles ready, and be prepared to load a save if you have never played the mission before. They will get you.
