Losing coco and then lulu in the same month made me hyper paranoid and aware of my oshi's actions and the prelude to the end. people were surprised that coco said she was leaving but i was anything but. i can't fall in love with someone again only to have them leave and i end up puking for like a day out of sadness. i just can't do it again.

First, you have to consider the context in which she mentioned Melody at the time, she was the eccentric and edgy gaijin that didn't know much about the industry and took advantage of it to get away with certain things that wouldn't normally fly if people thought she knew more about the industry and the language at the time, she has mentioned this a few times.
She did it as Coco, which allows her to detach from her real self, a collab between a virtual ahem... girl and a Yakuza dragon can actually work, probably the same way it worked on her first collab with Polka with that bomb defusal game, by that i mean the setting, she was eating and getting drunk at a hostess club and being bothered by Polka on the phone.
Even when using her Koikatsu model it's based on herself, the "line" isn't as blurred, i can't really imagine kson collabing with Melody, it's not really the kind of content she makes.
Oh and i wouldn't put so much weight on their supposed friendship, Coco calls anyone she messages a few times on discord a friend.

I'm not saying it can't happen, in fact i can see Coco caving in after getting nearly stalked by vshojo girls on twitter every time she makes a tweet, and it will suck because people will use it to shitpost when in reality she's just being nice.

Coco is leaving in the best possible way, defending management and thanking her genuine chinese fans who always followed even before the taiwan thing.
She made sure her channel and twitter stay up and untouched, something that doesn't usualy happen.
She'll be in Alternative.
Other Holos will be able to talk about her without problem, "Coco" isn't banned, if Fubuki visits her she can talk about it on stream.
She'll probably be named every now and then on twitter by another member if they hang out.

She's leaving the door open because she hopes to return someday, but only if the conditions for her return are met.
What could those conditions be? god knows, but i'm almost sure "content restriction" isn't the be-all and end-all for her.

I've followed her since before she joined hololive, and i can tell you she values the friends she has in hololive even more than having the freedom to make all the content she wants, before the Taiwan thing started she had taken a break from Asacoco and began streaming more games and utawakus because she was burned out from it, (she started making asacoco at 11-12pm and often finished it 1 or 2 minutes before she went live at 6AM, she did that for 5 days a week), that break was LONG, it's like she had to force herself to start doing it again.
