it's most likely for the sake of some networking/notoriety, it cannot be understated just how good Mori is at spinning useful connections from even very minute interactions and at the same time her ongoing stuff isn't very clippable, which did stall her growth - VCR could provide her with opportunities in both of those directions
in the end I doubt it'll impact her other content or that she'll do something particularly controversial with how image-aware she's been recently, so I expect the conversation around these streams to die around the second/third episode

I sorta understand your feelings, but when Mori was near the top she did a lot of content that while fun, it was pretty typical viewbaiting (like the Jump King rage series), while most of the stuff she does currently is cute and she clearly has passion for it that transfers into her commentary being more loose
in the end, it's nice to see them doing well, but it's even nicer to see them doing okay while they are also enjoying it enough to do it in the long run

even the MV member streams had Mori more open and venting about her concerns and worries than most of those
