I work as a consultant for a multinational IT consultancy firm. All they had in my contract was that I'd be consulting and I'd be paid 7 big ones. They heavily implied a more technical role rather than working client-side during my interview but didn't actually tell me which branch I'd be working under. Technically they didn't lie and the firm allows branch movement but then somehow I got a client in my first week so now there's no way in hell they would ever let me move to another branch. The only way out is waiting 8 more months for my client contract to end or moving to a different company. So I do minimal work while applying elsewhere.
