Imagine Ina showing up in your room in the dead of night because the whispers of the Ancient Ones caused her to have a horrible nightmare.

She stands in the doorway in naught but her pajamas, quivering like a leaf in the wind. Despite her monstrous appearance, tentacles slowly probing the air around her looking for danger, the girl herself looks like a cornered animal, staring out at something only she can see. Only after seeing your wide eyed look does she soften slightly and return her tentacles to the void. There seems to be no shortage of relief in her expression when she sees all is well with you. She wordlessly climbs into your bed, worming her way under the covers while whimpering to herself. She nestles in closely to your body, wrapping her limbs around you. Her lithe figure is drained of heat and color, despite her elevated heart rate. The only words she whispers are brief and clear: "It isn't safe for me to share what I saw. But I need you here tonight."

After some time spent stroking her long hair, still unkempt from her previous restless slumber, her head flaps slowly begin to fall back into a relaxed position as the tension melts from her body in your embrace. Trying to take her mind off things, she talks in a hoarse yet soft voice about her favorite memories of you. It seems forced at first, but by the end you can hear the smile in her voice as she sits curled up with her head beneath your chin. She falls asleep listening to your heartbeat, mumbling your name as the darkness and isolation she felt before melts away.
