As a german let me clear some things up about our poop obsession.
Germans are usually not disgusted by looking at poop because we are trained from a very young age to look at it. Let me explain: Our toilets have a platform where the shit lands before you flush it. This is so you can inspect it to see if there is something wrong with it. For example is it too smooth or too hard. Can parasites or blood be seen.
We do this to see if we have been eating correctly of if we have to go to the doctor.
