a couple of health problems lead to this...

1) low/high blood sugar (but judging by her god awful diet it's highly unlikely to be diabetes. so this is unlikely)

2) low blood pressure (from an ultra low unhealthy low sodium diet, again, unlikely, she'd probably have other symptoms before fainting, and if you're fainting from low sodium induced low blood pressure you're half in the grave)

3) anemia (low red blood cell count caused by poor iron levels or leukemia/AML, considering she eats that vegetarian shit, this is the most likely cause of it, all she needs to do is take some multivitamins and this problem probably goes away assuming its not from a more serious cause)

well numbers say it's gura.

Having watched a lot of both Gura and Pekora, I'd say they're both really strong in certain areas.

Pekora is just a superior minecraft streamer, I mean it's not even close. Pekora can spin a whole narritive out of just placing some blocks or finding a weird hole in something she built. She's really creative and can just create fun out of thin air. so she makes a fantastic minecraft streamer. Gura is a fairly good minecraft streamer, because she has zero attention span and has a way to just ramble crazy shit while doing random shit in the game somehow sabotaging herself randomly; it makes for some surprisingly kino content, but in the grand scheme of things she's clearly second tier to Pekora in minecraft.

That said Gura is a far more entertaining person in horror games. Pekora sounds fake as all hell, to the point i doubt she finds horror games even remotely scary; where as gura is endless amusement in them. Gura is better for random 2 minute clip content then pekora because she just says crazy shit at the drop of a hat, and has some hilarious reactions to stuff.

Gura is also a far superior singer to pekora, in fact while her detractors like to critize her singing, this type of criticize borders on copium, as while she's a raw and untrained singer she's a very talented one, who has done some mind-blowing song covers, some of which somehow improved on the original, all the while playing a ukulele one of the most annoying instruments in history. She's a limited singer but she's really good at certain types of singing and she just shines in it. In a lot of ways i think most of her metioric popularity is due to that singing, especially if you look at the views her dozens of unarchived karaoke clips get or her original song got.

If you were asking me who i'd want to watch for 2 hours doing nothing (and not singing) I think i'd rather watch pekora as she can just create entertainment out of nothing, if you told me both girls could do whatever the hell they wanted to for 2 hours, I'd watch gura; as her singing is strong enough to overcome her shortcomings as a streamer i'd be willing to watch her for 2 hours on the off chance she started an impromptu concert.

That said Korone is a far better streamer then both of them when it comes to any random video game. she's just pure entertainment as a video game streamer. as the total package i'd still probably chose Gura, and if we were talking Minecraft or just the streamer on screen for 2 hours not doing anything but interacting with the audience (no singing) I'd still prefer pekora.

>- Gura could be this kind of person but she is absent often for days and when she's lazy she does low energy popular game streams. Also predictably she's going to focus more in her music career soon.

Ina is Ina, she's the valium of hololive, for some people that's perfect. she's also rather cute so thats a plus too.

Calli is chasing her dream in whatever form that may take. I wish more people would respect the hustle and not try to pigeon hole her into their ideal of what she should be. not many people have the guts or will to chase their dream to the extent that they are willing to go down THIS rabbit hole to do it.

Gura takes first day off in 8 days; for family reasons, and this rrat shows up again

Kiara is chasing her dream in any way it will come. again, while she is my least favorite of the 5, she deserves respect for the hustle. I personally think she needs to learn to enjoy what she has, but that's because I'd be happy with what she has if I was in her shoes. She's probably got bigger asperations, it's why she has a million subs and made more money in the last 9 months then i have in the last 4 years combined.

Ame loves gaming and streaming. She's not not great at it. She'll get better if she wants to. Of all of the holos she's the only one who feels like she is sort of aimless. almost like she fell ass backward into a streaming career, and isn't sure how long she wants to do this.

copywrite laws don't work like how this schitzo teammate thinks they do.

He took
1) ame's voice (without permission)
2) dr suess's written work (without permission)
3) someone else's music (without permission)

mixed them together and wanted to get paid. Copywrite law doesn't work like this. I can't take michael jackson's beat it, and set it to a reading of tom sawyer with morgan freedman reading it, and call it MY work and try to make money off it. it's just delusion. He needed all 3 parties permissions to make the work in the first place (meaning it could have been copywrite struck by any of 3 parties) and likely permission never would have been given for him to monitize it as well.

This dude is a certifiable schitzo who thinks he's entitled to youtube bucks. just stop giving him a platform.

>Then hip hop can't exist. What Holobass did is the essence of the hip hop scene, i.e. sampling
no, sampling is allowed in 2 situations. depending on how it's sampled. if the music track is ripped without alteration they need permission from the composer to sample, which they usually can get if they agree to profit share or it's old enough or they're part of the same record company, or their friends. The other situation is if they TRANSOFORM the music into something else, by changing the beat or increasing the tempo, or changing the instruments. Copywrite is sorta loose about musical plagiarism, it doesn't take a lot of change to a peice of music to skirt plagiarism charges (a good example of someone who didn't originally get permission to sample, is vanilla ice's "ice ice baby" which sampled "under pressure" form Queen/david bowe without permission or significant enough transformation, as a result he had to reach an agreement with both artists for an undisclosed amount of $$ to keep rights to the song and avoid court)

>So what exactly changes?
this does a couple of things to the vtuber community

KAi-> created a miku-like live action vtuber. she was about prescripted clips uploaded to video hosting sites of her mostly goofing around in her 3d rig and singing, basically a quasi fake idol.

~this created a meta of Idol types trying to be vtubers which, despite what Holo-bros want to believe was sorta trashed by Nijisanji who introduced more humorous and adult vtuber streamer stuff. their act was much more twitch then niconico or youtube, but it made some money and was moderately successful, they also introduced gaming to the meta.

-Coco introduced her own meta to the mix... the simpbucks. Prior to coco japanese didn't really tip their vtubers much. It was westerners showering coco with cash that opened the eyes of the japanese vtubers and their fans to tipping content to show support. This helped the whole medium get more $$; so you could argue coco had the biggest impact on the global vtuber scene as she both opened the west to the vtuber "thing" and transformed the economics of it at the same time. Her content wasn't amazingly ground breaking (apart from the English outreach) she definitely played into the Nijisanji bottom-left meta hard.

Gura's meta ~ is actually a more traditional Idol style meta; at least as far as the Japanese are concerned. She's cute and smol which the nips love, and while she can be mischievous she's never mean, and she always tries to leave everyone smiling. She sings as well. She's also funny in a very... seiso manner. Yes she does make crude jokes or say curse words but she usually does it with a lot of innocence and innuendo which can be deniable.

I have Japanese friends from when I was serving in Okinawa, and they tell me Gura is "strong" because she gets huge numbers without being lewd, crude or vulgar, in short she's proof a vtuber can be immensely successful without going bottom left hard. sure there were successful vtubers who were seiso before gura, even in the nijisanji-coco meta, (a lot of them in hololive); but none of them were great successes, either financially or commercially as the idol bros didn't tip like the coco-niji meta fans did (fubuki, korone and pekora didn't see big $$ numbers till gura came along, though they were doing well sub wise).

As for the western market Gura introduced a successful "clean" entertainer to a market that doesn't usually reward clean entertainment on any level. Gamers don't watch streamers who are NICE. People don't watch singers who sing Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, or Japanese City Pop (now there is a niche music type). Yet Gura is succeeding spectacularly as a gamer who sorta sucks at games, who's generally clean in content, and who sings very uncontroversial music (country roads? seriously? It's a great slice of red state Americana, but nothing I'd expect a popular youtuber to stream). She also is succeeding in the west using traditional Japanese Moe, something I thought would never happen, in the west a girl needs to show her thong and talk about slinging pussy to get traction; a wholesome young cartoon moe girl never should have taken off in the west. Finally she's made vtubers a much more mainstream thing in the west

well we have a few other ways to measure, for example, youtube indicates if you get 15-20% interaction from paid memberships (interaction being comments on videos or likes/dislikes) you're pretty much at the top of the curve for interaction. (the interaction numbers are lower for everyone paid, unpaid and non subs who views a video, down in the 5-12% range)

so if we use youtube's metrics and assume she gets high interaction from her memberships lets say curve breaking high at 25% then 17k represents 1/4 of her actual memberships, which puts us in the 68K range. a normally high interaction like 20% would make her membership count reach 85K. and if she gets normal interaction in the 15% range you'd be talking about well over 100k paid members.

We know her paid memberships are insanely high based purely on how much she does for her members. She's the only Hololive who pays a LOT of attention to her membershrimps. Unlike others who play to the superchats she's focused laser like on her memberships. why? Well the numbers work out pretty crazy for paid memberships. for example, 20k paid members (assuming all at $5/mo) works out to 100k per month in membership fees. Sure, youtube and cover take their pound of flesh from that number but even after that she's clearing 40k from memberships alone per month at just 20k memberships. and as i pointed out her memberships can be much much higher then 20k... for gura her take home membership $$ numbers are higher then pretty much every holo's superchat revenue.

want to know why gura pays little attention to superchats? that's why. her money comes in from memberships, so she does at least one member's only event per week, lots of member karaoke's reading normal non-superchatted members comments during streams, or why out of all the holos she does so many non-monetizable streams or turns off superchats on so many of her streams. there are girls on hololive who won't post herself singing unless she can monetize it. yet gura has exactly 1 singing stream which is monitized in 8 months. all the covers are on other girl's channels. not a single collab cover on her channel.

there are girls who work the youtube algorithm for ad bucks. Mori is a good example (this isn't a criticism, just the first girl who came to mind); mori doesn't do superchats on the same stream she just did, even if she plans on doing it at the same time. Why? because superchat reading depress viewership. the Youtube algorithm counts AVERAGE viewers; if you do a 3 hour gaming stream with 30k viewers, then a 2 hour superchat attached to the same stream with just 10k watching the average views for the stream will fall down from 30k to 22k, which can hurt your ad revenue and how often your view gets recommended in the search (or where it's recommended). She does the smart thing, she ended the gaming stream and starts up a new stream for the superchat reading to keep the monetization of the gaming stream good, and not drag it down with the superchats. She does the same thing if she's just going to hang out with her chat, she knows this is a low viewer content, so she'll end whatever she was doing with higher viewership and start the hang out session as it's own video.

Gura doesn't do any of this. If you look at all of this, it's obvious Gura's income is mostly membership based.

well the game is availible on every platform, yet it still energized me to buy an xbox series x from a scalper for $600 (I meant to buy one anyway when there wasn't a supply issue); should be arriving Tuesday. then i'll play the demo (the game looked rather fun). (yes the game will be available on steam, just the demo isn't, and i was planning on buying the series x anyway, so we'll call it a solid shill attempt)

>Sounds like a cope
no, the math has been done a number of times by numberfags. it works out like this

Gura has provably a min of 20k paying memberships (as in we can confirm a min of 20k live views for some of her member content based on likes); the real number of paid memberships could be (based on youtube statistics) as high as 200k; however this number is almost as unlikely as her having just 20k. Based on youtube stats, and some statistical sampling her actual number of paid memberships is most likely somewhere around 40-80k.

Her paid memberships come in two tiers, 5 per month and 10 per month. We have no way to know how many of her paid memberships are 5 and how many are 10; so all estimates for income assume all paid memberships are $5 to provide a min estimated income. This min income could be significantly lower then reality though.

at 40k paid memberships for $5/mo she makes a min of $200k/mo from the memberships alone, if that number is 80k paid memberships her membership income is as high as $400k per month.

even if you don't believe the statistical models used, and only believe the bare minimum provable numbers (9k confirmed paid members who voted on a pole in october; numbers from before she hit 1mil subs) she's still making a min of $50k/mo on paid memberships; which equals her estimated ad revenue though youtube and equals her estimated monthly superchat revenue. However the statistical models easily prove her number of paid memberships are much much higher then this 9k number, with the floor being a min of 20k, though even that number is pretty much assuming nearly historically high and impossible to match youtube engagement in her video content for her memberships. furthermore in live content such as yesterday's costume reveal, 9 in 10 comments in her chat are membershrimp, with nearly 200k live viewers (don't believe me, the view is up with the chat comments, count it yourself when the costume is being revealed with the highest live numbers, nearly every post in chat has a green name meaning they're paid numbers, 200k live viewers and nearly every single comment comes from a paid membership; which lends credibility to the statistical models that suggest it's entirely possible she has 200k paid members; I don't believe it, if you believe the traffic was mostly passive, then you won't either, but we know at least 100k of her live viewers were ACTIVE and passionate, as they were waiting before the reveals, and stayed after it, and still chat was entirely a wall of green member names with a rare white (unpaying) post interspersed from time to time. Meaning that estimated 40-80k membership number might be conservatives.
