The young man spreads his arms wide, releasing himself of his weariness against the backdrop of the fading evening sun. Vargyaotl could hear panicked squeals emanating from behind the door as he climbed the steps to his house. There's no mistaking what's going on inside.

The door swung open with a thud and he is met with a chachawatl. The large fluffy rodent ran out of his home, a cob of corn in its jaws, and gleefully munching on its treasure in the yard. Vargyaotl turns around to find a distraught Pelagia, ladle in hand and her apron barely clinging onto her hip, shooing the furry visitor.

"Ahh~ Agapimeni mou!! I didn't knew you came back early." The woman put down her ladle and corrected her apron. "I had no idea when that thing came in. One minute, I was cooking. The next, he's on the table stealing fruits!" Grabbing a handful of cassava, Pelagia tossed the root vegetable out onto the lawn. The rodent now has something else to eat once it's done with its corn. "Now you better stay outside or it is you who will be dinner!" she snapped as she waved a cleaver in the chachawatl's field of vision.

Immediately after closing the door, Pelagia swiftly went in and embraced Vargyaotl. Hugging him tighter by the second. "Godan dagin, agapi! Did I got it right this time?" she asked while letting him go. "Close... you missed it by ten hours" the man giggled as he was petting her on the head.

The couple met not too long ago. A newcomer from Infinitopia, Pelagia came to the lands of Matiyotl with hopes of greener pastures and golden ventures. She settled down in the quiet little town of Cintligardr by the Blood River, far from the bustling noise and competition of Saudrapan. Being an artificer by trade, Pelagia smithed her way into the hearts of the local community. Farmers and hunters were overjoyed wielding her tools crafted with clocksmith knowledge. Vargyaotl was more of an artist. He toiled hours in the apothecary of the town's abbeytoir chapter. Twisting the bones and mutilating the flesh of the shipew.

One particular day, Vargyaotl was entrusted with a very seasoned shipew. Whose flesh almost chitin-like, and bones as durable as sword-steel. Her previous owner must have fed her plenty of chuubanite. His usual tools were unable to cause a dent into her physique. His tools however, were not spared from excessive force. Not giving up, the young artist paid the Kronie artificer a visit. Commissioning a new set of tools and equipment.

Pelagia was hesitant at first. She had crafted weapons before, but tools of torture were new to her. Over time, the two worked closely together. A professional acquaintanceship soon turned into a warm interest for each other. Vargyaotl would try to learn Infinitopian clocksmithing from the lady, while Pelagia became intrigued to the grim culture of Matiyotl in return. Though the tools were done and the order delivered, the couple found themselves inseparable since. Visiting the market, gathering raw materials in the wilderness, working after hours in the workshop, what were once solitary chores became stages of courtship plays.

Weeks turned into months, and the budding romance morphed into mutual trust. The two would finally tie the knot, with Pelagia moving into Vargyaotl's heirloom home.

Vargyaotl helped with the dishes and cutleries, arranging them in a particular distance. Pelagia would panic if the ratios are off. Old Kronie habits die hard it seems. In the centre of the table, Pelagia placed the pot. An aroma of strong spices fills the dining room. An extremely appetizing one. Curious, the man asked what's the main course. Pelagia lifts the cover, revealing a steaming mix of beans, maize, cassava, with large chunks of meat in-between.

"It wasn't easy getting fresh sholo around midday! Luckily I got her thighs!" the Kronie smiled as she sat down with her husband.
