A pippa bait thread from the catalogue got me pondering...
If pippa ever did leave Phase Connect one day, would phase connect be able to survive?
Would any talent/fan really leave just because Pippa did?

Cliche as it is, it was everything becoming stainless steel corperate.
I really miss when this hobby, even at the very top in large corpos, was really just about streamers finding unique and fun ways to entertain their audience and have fun.
Nowadays everything has to be about numbers or selling this or doing better than that.
I get companies gotta make a profit, but it killed some of the SOVL vtubing had along the way. It doesnt feel like most are in it to have fun anymore, especially in the JP scene.
at least there's indies who still have this kind of mindset, but most of the good ones end up joining corpos and changing completely anyway
