In terms of hydrology faggotry, something you'd expect is for most bodies of water to lead to the sea eventually, and it would be unusual to have river bifurcate besides for deltas. Picrel is just to illustrate what I mean, all the lakes would probably have a river that goes to sea, and the big river that goes Eastward wouldn't bifurcate towards the lake, but might open up in a delta once it's close to the coast.
Also, the South Lake has an interesting shape, does it mean something?

Makes sense, kinda technocratic. The tests to select the advisors would be a pretty cool event, a bit like elections in republics, but instead of voting, candidates congregate to where the tests are held.
I think sugar mining is unlikely outside of /luna/... Unless that is an effect of your chuubanite? Or maybe you can import Moriji sugar cane.
