Because it does feel like I owe whatever small audience I do have what I promise them. I want to give it to them and I can give it to them and then mental bullshit, medical bullshit, real life just gets in the way and makes me lose my confidence in being able to promise or deliver ANYTHING.

I don't remember where I picked up the phrase but I've used it in lieu of 'time traveler'. Someone from the future or the past, or someone stuck in a certain era... Like if someone only bought furniture and clothes from the 1950s, I would see them and describe them as a man (that stepped) out of (a certain) time.
