Combination of algo, the fact that he was a non-burger so he got buffed as "#1 streamer in [whatever country he's from, Sweden IIRC]" which drew attention, the type of content he made, etc. And even then, the writing was on the wall that his meteoric rise was a perfect storm of factors that would almost never come for any other content creator.
You could say the same of "diamond in the rough" youtube singers who become professionals and/or AAA recording artists, it was a thing a decade+ ago... now, there's a billion cover singers on the platform and few have an actual chance of Making It.

If a game streamer won't stop talking, whether it be commenting on the game or telling a story or whatever the fuck, that doesn't change the content of the gameplay. In the background, my eyes are still able to take in the gameplay even as I listen to them tell their story or make their commentary. It's the reason why the "commentary/rant over [gameplay footage]" genre became such a big thing, and to this day most ranttubers will have some recorded gameplay going on in the background.
I'm sure there are a handful of streamers who react to shit like visual illusions or something else inherently non-auditory, but the overwhelming majority of examples of reacttuber content I see are them reacting to something where the audio element is significant. Then, if we wanna go with the "pretending they're your bro/friend you're watching videos with" route, it's either as I said they won't stop pausing the video and ranting about whatever the fuck every five seconds, or they're that annoying fucking friend who repeats the joke or significant line or whatever from the narrative thing you're watching.

However the point was that, as you love data so much, you should learn more about analysis itself. Contextual understanding, skepticism of existing assumptions and so on. I'm not saying your assumption is right or not, but you made clear you had one before even running those scripts, and it's missing a ton of contextual data. Making an analysis to prove an opinion will always harm the quality of the result.

Your initial assumption seems to be that people mostly use discord to reply to beatani/get her attention and such, similar to what people complained about for twitter. In short, the effect of poster X being vtuber beatani.
It's pretty obvious and understandable that people are more likely to reply to the person the whole thing is about, in the first place. However, to properly measure only that effect, you have to get ride of other parasite factors, and there are many : beatani tends to post to start topics related to her channel (ex: minecraft events) which makes a channel goes from dead to active, beatani posting style is A LOT of short messages in serie, which boost the activity by a ton, beatani talks about stuff that interest more people, which is logic considered users are fans of her content, etc.
Ideally each of those factors that lead to an increase in activity should be measured separately if you want to stricly show the effect "being able to reply to beatani" have on the activity.
Yes, showing something so precise is indeed a pain in the ass, often one result is due to many different factors and that's why it's a full time job for more serious topics.
