Having lived through their debut and following both companies at the time, my short answer is

By mid summer, Nijisanji had fumbled the ball on international viewers AGAIN and had almost 0 presence. Kaigai viewers had no idea Selejo were coming.
And on the JP side - promotion, for their first ever 5 man, singing themed unit, was almost non existent.
Debuting right after the Kirame, Meiro duo might have been bad timing too, but it's not like they got big numbers either.

And, for casual fans, the Holo debuts were an event, while the Nijis ones weren't, at that point.
These 7 were Nijis first debuts since the pandemic started, but they already had the renown, nay, infamy, of being a company that just spams low quality debuts in the last 2 years.
Hell, Ars 3D debut had way more hype than the newbies.

It's only for Eden in 2021 that Nijisanji learned from Hololive and built some hype. It was also their first debut set in 1 full year, so there was more buildup.
