Even if I'm not a big Rushia fan there was still a feeling of bitterness regarding that announcement and even before during the aftermath of the GTA V collab stream with Miko. Even after knowing it's NDA violations that no one in their right mind would break (unless they have an answer for it). It made me realize I got too attached to vtubers in a sort of parasocial way where anything negative that happens to them also affects my mood and productivity while on the the office. I used to always make fun of parasocial fans of big streamers (XQC, Mizkif, Pokimane, DrDisrespect, Adin, Dream, heck even KPop stans on twitter) without realizing I became parasocial myself no different from them. I realized that I'm way into Sakura Miko thanks to her funny antics (vtuber also from Holo) and decide to distance myself a bit and just appreciate her content (and other vtubers in general).

With that in the past few days I tried connecting more with irl friends, get back to learning other programming languages such as python, and even do daily walks outside (with masks on as there is still the global pandemic) basically "touch grass" irl. I still watch Miko streams and funny clips when schedule allows but deleting/deactivating my Twitter that's filled with hourly updates on all major vtubers (be it good news or bad news) is doing good on my mental so far since the negativity that overwhelms the positivity just washes over me. I don't encourage everyone to do what I did but just a reminder that at the end of the day don't get too attached and anchor your happiness too much on a personality online be it if they are part of an agency or an indie since the persona you see online is different to the real life human acting behind the persona. Enjoy things in moderation.
